A chakra | ˈCHäkrə | is an energy center within your body that has energy flowing through and around it. These energy centers monitor and regulate our environment (temperature, atmosphere, vibes, etc.) and dictate your reactions and responses to different stimuli. There are seven main chakras and each one correlates to a specific day of the week, planet within our solar system, and even each one of your seven senses (yes, there are actually seven instead of five). The seven main chakras are also directly linked to the condition of your body and the state of your mind since they are connected to the endocrine system, nerve ganglia, and different glands that supply necessary hormones, vitamins, and nutrients throughout your body.
The energy that flows through and around each chakra is ethereal | iˈTHirēəl | energy from within your spirit which is then transformed to corporeal | kôrˈpôrēəl | energy within your soul. This energy travels through each of the seven centers within your body and trigger your mind resulting in different emotions which is ENERGY in MOTION, hence the word e-motion. These emotions or energy in motion subjectively affect your body and dictate your "TRAIN of THOUGHT" which is merely an expression of the energy that is transported from the spirit, by the soul, through the mind, and spread throughout the body.
The four components listed above make up the living vehicle of life that you live and are directly related to the four main elements: AIR (spirit), FIRE (soul), WATER (mind), and EARTH (body) thus explaining your connection to nature and the universe beyond it.
The word chakra is Hindu for disk or wheel which is the "shape" of the energy centers that each chakra resides in and was first recorded in The Vedas; the largest and oldest body of religious Sanskrit text in India. In the 20th century, many translations and derivatives came into the western mainstream and served as the fundamentals to understanding this ancient esoteric knowledge and began what we know as, The New Age.
